I'm at the Lion's Club International Convention in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm soaking in culture between Lion meetings and training sessions. I am borrowing a computer from Lion Nihal of Australia and posting at the convention's site at the Impact Center Challenger 2 internet cafe. some of the cultural highlights of my trip are: learning about and riding logging elephants, going to the Alangkarn dinner theater, and of course participating in the Lion's Interational Convention Parade. Learning how to say peace as a greeting in Thai "sa was dee ka" when spoken by a female and "sa was dee krab" spoken by a male (the "s" is silent). Please comment and share your cultural experiences.

Looks like you are having fun on your adventure. I like the pictures especially you riding the elephant. Bet that stunk though. Hope you are able to keep up posting to your account and be safe on the rest of the trip. Glad you got invited to the kings birthday party.
The adventure is over now. I'm glad you liked the elephant ride picture. The elephant was very clean. Now I can catch up with my postings. The Lion's International Convention was sent a book to give well wishes to the King and his official portrait. I guess he doesn't blog.
Oh Honey,
The pictures were wonderful and what a fabulous time you must have had.
So enjoyed your entire blog. You go girl gal!
You look so "cool" on the elephant. I was totally impressed.
Tons of love... Me xoxo
Great pictures!
I am in Iowa with my son. Same thing over nd over again - farms, corn, bugs and livestock. But the temperature is in the 80's (better than Vegas). I don't want to go back to Vegas. I will talk to you later about our project. Valerie
Did you try Thai food yet? Omg it's so good. The best Thai food restaurant in Vegas is Lotus of Siam. You should check it out when you get back.
How wonderful it must have been to go to Thailand. It is a culture that I know very little about and yet love very much. I have two cousins that are half Thai. Maybe someday I too can go with them to their families and enjoy this rich culture. Beautiful pictures! And good luck with your masters degree!
I was in the Arizona contingent with Mrs. R-T and out trip was great. I would not have thought to go to Thailand for a vacation spot but I am very glad to have had the opportunity to go to the International Convention and experience the sights and sounds. Thailand was a land of smiles and contrasts. We had a 30+ floor hotel next to street vendors and poor neighborhoods. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful. I know Mrs. R-T regreted not having the time available to visit any and all art galleries and art museums on our trip. Enjoy the Blog and share your art experiences and memories. Thanks, Tom
